mmmm Such an inviting intro. Texturally rich and then a smooth bassline to fill in your boots. Makes me want to be on a dance floor with 50 really sweaty people. Everyone just groovin. I also agree with Night Palms with the chords. You could extend that out for an extra dance bit. That typical houseRead more

Sick beat, great rhythm in your rhymes and great lyrics. I would just like to hear more "on the table". Like lean into the feeling and give it some energy. Whatever that energy is. Sick beat, great rhythm in your rhymes and great lyrics. I would just like to hear more “on the table”. Like lean into the feeling and give it some energy. Whatever that energy is. I can feel the edges of it but I think there’s a lot more room there that you can explode into. Not necessarily volume (although it could be)…more vulnerability/attitude/emotion. Let us in more. I feel like I want more of what these rhymes mean through your performance of them.

One interesting exercise is to re-sing/rap the whole thing again at full volume. Almost yelling it the whole way through. Maximum energy, over the top, just ridiculous energy. Just to see where the top is. Then scale it back a few levels and do it again. Keep doing it until you find the level of energy that feels interesting. Sometimes hard to find a place to do it but I always find a car ride is good for some high-energy lyric testing.

As for feedback for the track, I think it’s great. I think don’t get too caught up in what it needs at this point. Just keep creating. Follow what feels right for you. When faced with a decision whether to create more or not, usually pick the create more option… if you don’t like it, just delete it. When you create more, at least you have the choice. It also lets you explore different avenues rather than just imagining what they could be.

Work with some ppl and other singers and that sometimes helps inform decisions about structure. Just follow your gut, it won’t let you down.

Congrats on the first upload, the hardest part is over. Now just keep going 😀

Subtle but strong. I would like to hear a few "ear candy" bits. LIke chimes at the end or start of the chorus, or little extra perc / bell hits. Slight difference in the groove or even subtle feel change in the chorus, maybe extra shaker or something. Its raining where I am and its v relaxing listenRead more

Its raining where I am and its v relaxing listening to this and looking out the window. Really smooth and easy listen. Great work!

yeyeee love a good mute fill. So effective! Honestly not sure, just felt like there could be a nice poem there or a small section of an emotive speech. Honestly not sure, just felt like there could be a nice poem there or a small section of an emotive speech. I don’t really have a preference if its me or someone else, I am just looking for something real. In a perfect world I would want someone to listen to it and they are moved to write a poem just from the emotions they felt from that section and the song as a whole. Just putting it out to the universe to see what comes back. If nothing, that is also ok, I just felt there was some possibility there.

I'm diggin this! Sample kinda vibe with a dope groove. I imagine myself at a low lit cement finish bar drinking a really expensive cocktail eating some sort of fish eggs while this is playing.

Thanks man, yeah this was all done on the prophet 10 so it just sits in so well. It was also accidentally recorded slightly de-tuned. So the whole track doesn't fit any normal scale. By accident but I guess a happy accident :D

Smooth and relaxed with a passion that feels very natural. Feels like I am listening and watching this play out at a a real low lit party. Dope song and dope party.
